Author & Book
To all who purchase or are considering copping a copy of my heartfelt, 'non prose' offering, "The Poetic Wordz"... I'd like to share a bit more about me.
Born Monica Little, February 14th, 1982, in Baltimore, MD and became a willing transplant to Charlotte, NC some 8 years later. I wasn't a precocious child nor did I walk both ways uphill to school but somewhere in the middle of the center I had my struggles and triumphs; love, loss, school, work, rape, redemption, jumping the shark and finding the rainbow. If pain and promise are all relative to the individual then there are those who can relate to mine through the pane of their own unique experience.
This book, although encompassing of many years, is also a snapshot of the time when I wrote a piece, compiled the book, etc. and I've changed and grown through the effort of establishing a relationship with God. Within each poem, whether subtle or heavy, the arrow points back to Him; through the struggles I faced and how I was able to overcome. Without Him this book would not have been possible or rather with Him this book is accomplished. I digress... those aforementioned snapshots are true unto themselves in the same way as a bad or good license photo (it was still you on that day, in that lighting, after waiting in the line and so on).
My ever present inner editor tells me not to write another book on myself while pleasantly trying to hawk "The Poetic Wordz"... so, I'll leave you with this, "I am because HE IS".
